Collective Action
You may have seen in the news that GPs across the country have recently voted in favour of taking collective action. During this time, it may mean that some GPs may reduce the amount of work they carry out or suspend certain duties.
Westbury-on-Trym Primary Care Centre is considering what action it may take and we will keep you informed. We are supportive of the action, to improve funding into general practice and patient safety, but there is no disruption to our services currently.
Please be assured that our practice will remain open, and you should continue to contact us as you normally would. As always, our priority is making sure you have timely access to the right services depending on your health and care needs. Patient care is our priority.
Unless you are contacted by us, you should still attend any planned GP appointments.
For regional information on the scale of action taking place please visit the Integrated Care Board’s (ICB) website for regular updates.
Please don’t forget, there are a wide range of local services available to you depending on your needs. You can find out more about local services on the ICB’s ‘which services should I use’ web page.
We are keeping our Patient Board (PPG) informed and they have asked that we share this statement: "The Patient Board supports the efforts of the GPs at Westbury-on-Trym Primary Care Centre to improve the contract with the government in order to secure sufficient resources to continue to provide the services to patients which are needed. We are confident that the GPs at the surgery will not take any action that would intentionally threaten patient care or safety."
Thank you for your understanding.
